Kuju Coffee Bold Awakening Coffee Review
I love the concept of this coffee. It is ideal for people backpacking or traveling - especially if you are traveling somewhere that may or may not have coffee.
I found this coffee at Sportsman’s Warehouse, so I grabbed it to try out!
ABOUT
I have to admit, Kuju Coffee is pretty cool. Without stepping too far away from reviewing this coffee, I just wanted to highlight a few cool things about this coffee.
The coffee is Nitro-flushed for freshness
The coffee crop is ethically sourced
Finally, it is made with wind power
Kind of cool for a single-serve coffee product.
The instructions on the bag are pretty simple to follow, and all you need is a coffee cup and some hot water.
What I love about this coffee is that it is perfect for any type of traveling. I know that it was built primarily for the camping and backpacking crowd, but hear me out here. I love that if I am on vacation at a hotel that either has no coffee, or offers some dust-infused coffee blend that was made in 1991, I now have a better option - Kuju Coffee.
REVIEW
I went into this review knowing that I would not be drinking small-lot coffee. I guess, I lowered my expectations slightly for this product, only so I would not judge it entirely too hard.
I had to remind myself that the closest benchmark for this coffee would be the Starbucks Via Instant coffee packets that I keep on hand for traveling. Truth be told I am not a big fan of them.
With that in mind, I cracked open the package and gave this a brew.
I was pretty surprised. This particular blend is a dark roast with earthy notes accompanied by sweet flavors of dried berry and dark cocoa.
While the flavors of this were not nearly as exotic or pronounced as finer small-lot coffees that I prefer, this was still a great coffee. It was definitely a step up from the Starbucks Via Instant coffee that I used to carry with me while traveling. Now, this coffee is my go-to coffee that I pack.
