Starbucks Reserve East Timor Peabody Coffee Review
Another great Starbucks Reserve roast! This East Timor Peaberry coffee was definitely one to remember, especially for my coffee flavor preferences.
This was a coffee that I knew I had to purchase as soon as I saw the flavor profile of the roast.
My favorite coffee has an extremely similar roast profile, so I was eager to compare the two and see what similarities were present.
Also, I am a huge fan of the artwork on this card. I love the art on all of the cards, but this particular one really resonated with me.
ABOUT
According to Starbucks, this Timor Hybrid varietal is from Maubesse, East Timor. As far as processing goes, it was fully washed.
Regarding this roast, Starbucks shared the following write-up on the back of the card attached to the coffee bag:
“Located off Australia’s northern coast, the mountainous island nation of East Timor is dotted with tiny coffee farms. Here Cooperative Café Timor-a Fairtrade certified cooperative-plays a pivotal role in empowering a community of more than 20,000 small-scale farmers. Amid difficult terrain and a lack of resources, CCT provides the farmers with best-practices training and assists in the collection, transport and processing of their coffee crops. With over 3,000 workers devoted to this effort and over 30 medical clinics established to serve the community, the cooperative is a testament to the belief that stronger communities grow exceptional coffee. This peaberry lot is a prime example: nuanced, sweet and extraordinary.”
REVIEW
Yes, it is exceptional coffee, at a minimum. It is extraordinary, it is unique, and it is remarkably in a class of its own. It is also one of the best-tasting roasts I have ever had from Starbucks Reserve, no question about it.
The flavor profile on this roast, according to Starbucks, is “subtle lemon nuances with notes of nut and milk chocolate.”
Personal coffee preferences aside, if that does not sound like pure coffee bliss, then I do not know what will.
The lemon and milk chocolate notes harmonize so beautifully together. They are subtle at times, yet they linger on the tongue and somehow intensify only after you have swallowed a drink of this coffee. The more you drink this roast, the better it becomes. It is like a gift that never stops giving.
I wish I would have purchased more of this roast. What makes it worse, is I had more bags in my hand but decided I should try it first in case I did not like it. Rookie mistake AF.
